About Rae

Passionate about people and what I do!

I come from a creative, media-loving family in the Northeast of Scotland. From the age of 11, I have been working with local Theatre groups in my hometown of Aberdeen. I helped backstage, working with props, and then I discovered makeup.

With my love for theatre and a determination to increase my skills, I persuaded my parents to let me do a professional makeup course. Completing the Glamcandy makeup course at 15 I was soon working on local stage productions for Youth Theatre three times a year. From there I got jobs doing larger local productions - The Passion play at AECC and helping with set design in His Majesty's Theatre.  I met people involved locally with short film work and began helping NESCol and Crow House Productions with their short films. I have done 'room' work and lead character makeup for 5 short films gaining some IMDb credits for my work.

Leaving school at 17 to go to London College of Fashion to study a BA in Makeup, Hair and Prosthetics was a dream come true. Like most courses my degree was been hit by the Pandemic, making the practical element almost impossible. I graduated in 2021 and am grateful for the experience at this brilliant University. I have managed to get further experience working on music videos and short films working with the production company Head and Wrecker. I recently won Best Make-up at The HB film Festival for my work on Children of Chronos.

I love being on set and am keen to increase my experience and learn more skills. Having completed three years in London, I'd love to move back to Scotland and work in the industry there, but am adaptable and happy to work anywhere.

Please get in touch if I could help with your project.
